Chapter 6 (K)

When my alarm clock wakes me up at 7:30, I realize I did zero research yesterday. Literally zero. Damn it. I’m still nowhere.
I change and stumble my way downstairs. Everyone’s already out of the house. I’m still partially asleep, I realize, when I start putting butter in my water and I knock a bunch of clean dishes into the dirty and full sink. I sigh, and lean against the doorpost. I start listening to the TV that’s still on probably from when my parents tuned into the news.
“And now more information about the latest virus victim…”
That jolts me awake. I run into the living room, forsaking my breakfast. I can eat it on the way to school.
The TV is tuned into CTV. Not my favourite, especially since the anchor seems like an insipid jerk, but any news right now is good news.
“The name of the latest victim was 27 year old Maria Elroy, who was found besides her computer yesterday afternoon at 2:31…”
I click the record button on the TV. This is important.
“Ms Elroy is an important figure on CTV, acting as one of our wonderful producers. Ms Elroy is now at an undisclosed hospital in the city. Let us give her our wishes to recover as soon as possible…”
Wait a second. Besides her computer? I rush to the computer, and find the official website keeping records of the victims. Of course, it’s a private government website but I’ve been able to hack in and gain full access. It’s pretty stupid that they left the codes in the library where anyone could find them.
As I look over the places where each of the victims were found, I almost hit myself as I look at the most obvious piece of evidence staring at me. Each of the victims was found near their computers, and the computers had the same type of writing left on it. There was always a note written in big, green letters on the screen.
I totally forgot about school then. I finally had a clue. And I think it’s time to pay a visit to Hacker Maury’s room.

I'm on hiatus tomorrow, so Happy New Year's, everyone!

Chapter 5 (N)

I stood there, looking at Angel. After a while, she tilted her head in confusion which was really cute.
"D-did you d-do this?" I stammered. She smiled to herself a bit.
"Do you like it?" she asked with no emotion. I looked at it again. It was really cute, it was exactly like I planned it. How did she know?
"It's fantabulous! But Angel, how did you..?" she put her finger on my mouth, to make me stop talking.
"I have my ways. Now do you want to ask questions or finish the party?" she asked. I wanted to ask questions. But I decided to leave it at that.
"Finish the party," I said quietly. I had so many questions I wanted to ask.
"Good, now what do need for food and beverages?" she asked.
"Just a sec," I said. I went upstairs. I had a list of stuff I needed for the party. I also had a diary. I don't like diaries because if someone took a glance at it they wouldn't be my friend any more. I don't write mean stuff, I just write what I felt at the moment. I took a pen and wrote down 'Angel, Yin, and Yang are keeping secrets from me. I am determined to find out what they are.'
I picked up my list, and went downstairs. Angel was facing the other direction. I walked quietly, and said, "Boo!"
Angel didn't jump, she just stood there. She turned around, she looked prettier than she already was. Her blond hair brushed my face.
"Hi," she said.
"Hi," I said uncertainly. I handed her the list. "Here's the list of stuff we need."
I looked behind her, everything was already there.
"Okay, that's it," I said.
"Huh?" she said innocently.
"I want answers," I said.

"I'm going to Yin's house!" I yelled to my parents.
"Okay," my mother said faintly.
"Bring me back a notebook," said my father. He loved writing, that's the reason I love it too.
I took my bike, and started riding to Yin's house. When I finally got there, I saw Yang going inside. I hid behind Yin's house before he saw me. After I was sure Yang was inside, I called Kai.
"He's inside," I said, feeling like a spy.
"What is he doing?" asked Kai, immediately understanding me.
"I can't see, but do you think I should go inside?" I asked.
"Too risky," said Kai.
"At least I'll know something," I said.
"You just love to risk, don't you?" asked Kai.
"Should I leave you to hear?" I asked.
"Nope, I was never here," she said. I hung up. I locked my bike, and knocked Yin's door. The door opened.
"Hello, hun. Yin's upstairs with her friend," said her mother, who was washing the dishes with the spell I've been trying to learn, and watching t.v.
"Thanks," I said. I went upstairs slowly.
"And that's how you make a cherry pie," said Yin. They must have used the protective spell. But Yin was a horrible actor and cook. She burst out laughing. They already must know that I'm here, so I went inside.
"Hello." They looked at me surprised. Cut it out, I thought.
"Hi!" Yin said cheerfully. It was so fake, Yin was never cheerful.
"Hello Light," said Yang. But Yang was an excellent actor.
"I thought your mother needed you," I said. My voice was calm, and sincere. Yin started pacing.
"I went and did what she wanted and came here," he said looking at the floor. Yang never looked at the floor while talking unless he was extremely upset, or lying to someone he knew very much, like me.
"Why didn't you come to my house?" I asked. He looked me in the eye, then looked at Yin.
"Yin wanted me to come over," he replied. I looked at Yin, she was lost in thought. I glared at Yang. He looked away.
"Okay," I said cheerfully. "You never told me what was so important earlier."
"I don't have to tell you everything, do I?" he shot at me. He looked at me like this whole new person.
"But we're best friend, remember?" I told him, emphasizing the "remember".
"Hey guys, who is excited for the party tomorrow?" said Yin, interrupting us. I felt a little jealous, because I thought Yin wanted Yang not to answer that question.
"I have to go," announced Yang.
"Don't bother, you can stay with your girlfriend. I'm leaving," I declared. Yin and Yang both turned redder than a tomato, which was hilarious. I got up.
"Wait, what do you mean by 'girlfriend'?" asked Yin.
"Oh nothing," I said as I skipped off, humming a cheerful tune. I felt victorious. I got on my bike, and rode home.
Victory, why was I feeling victorious over my friends?

--THE END--

OMG, I am so sorry for not updating my story for so long. Happy New Year. I'm at my uncle's house, and I barely have time. But thanks for sticking with me.
So... any feedback? Comments? Ideas?

Chapter 5 (K)

After an oddly silent dinner, I trudge up back to my room. There’s no point in agonizing over this any longer.
I feel so dense to only realize now that we liked each other. I mean, almost everyone else could figure it out!
I log onto my email and search among my 20 something messages. There. Found it. I look at the date stamp: 20/09/2009 at 16:49. So he probably sent it to me once he got home.
I open the email tentatively, and find a bunch of gibberish written all over it. I smile. It’s one of the codes we created to prevent any curious eyes (like his sister or my brother) from reading our emails. He hasn’t used it in awhile, so this brings back memories.
I quickly decode the message. It says exactly what Evelyn, Catherine and Vera predicted earlier. My hands pause over the keyboard, uncertain as to what to reply. My mind races, trying to find the best way to express how I was feeling. I was going to type something elaborate, but all I decided to write were 4 words:
I like you too.
So that was over and done with. A huge weight seemed to have lifted from my shoulders. But then I remembered that my friends are probably going to humiliate me, tomorrow onwards. And some of them are definitely not going to approve when they find out, especially Lae and Nella. I sigh.
But hey, I’ll get over it hopefully. I flop into bed and think until I fall asleep.

V, no posting any of these chapters on FB! I'm humiliated enough writing these scenes partially from experience, ok?
STOP OR I WILL HAUNT YOU!!!!
On another note, I skipped yesterday!!!!!! Noooooo!!!
On account of writer's block. Darn you, writer's block!!!!

So yeah. Enjoy :) hopefully I'll get something up tomorrow.

Chapter 4 (K)

I don’t know how long I sat there in shock, but eventually I was able to peel myself off of the steps and go inside. I quickly dump my lunch bag in the kitchen and run upstairs. I type the password into the keyboard and the door to my room opens.
I feel instant relief as I enter. My room is my sanctuary. I drop my bag onto the floor and jump onto the beanbag chair. I just let my mind blank out as my body sinks into the chair.
“Kaya, dinner will be at 6:30, ok?” Yells my dad from downstairs. “So do your homework instead of loafing around.”
“Ok!” I shout back, and I move to get my homework from my backpack. I glance at the clock. It’s 4:45. Plenty of time to get everything done plus have some time to research. My body goes into an automatic mode as I quickly go through all my homework. I just want to get to my researching.
Finally, I finish all the homework due tomorrow. I stuff it into my backpack and turn on my tablet. Ok, let’s see. Now where was I?
Right. Hacker Maury.
Now I have a few hacking skills I’ve learned from the web, but whatever tricks I know pale in comparison to what Maury could do. He hacked into the teacher’s website to get the answers to homework and to find info about the upcoming tests. Of course, the teachers never suspected. He’s even been able to hack into the provincial government’s system and change the results of the last provincial vote. The voting had to be redone, but no one was able to trace it to Maury.
But that just asks the question: why was Hacker Maury the first virus victim?

Chapter 4 (N)

I picked up my phone as quickly as possible. I dialed Kai’s number. Beep… Beep…. Come on pick up Kai!
“Hello,” said a small voice.
“Is this Kai?” I asked.
“Kai, someone wants you,” said the small voice.
“Hello,” said Kai.
“Do you remember Yang?” I asked, getting to the subject immediately.
“Yeah, of course,” she said.
“Well, Yin was acting all weird, and she wanted me to go. Then I met Yang, and he said he was going to Yin’s,” I said.
“Hmm, that’s weird. Yang told me he was going to surprise you,” said Kai.
“He told me that too. But he said Yin said it was urgent,” I said. Our doorbell rang. I tried to open the door with a spell; it worked!
“Don’t worry about it. I don’t think it’s that important,” said Kai. I wish it was that simple.
“Hello,” said a familiar voice. I covered the mouth of my phone.
“I’m in my room!” I shouted. I heard the door close and footsteps.
“Hey,” said Yang as he entered my room.
“I got to go,” I said.
“Okay, bye,” she said. I put my purple phone next to me, but I didn’t hang up.
“Hi Yang, so how was Yin?” I asked.
“Do you know her or something?” he asked, he suddenly got defensive.
“Yeah, she’s my friend,” I said. He looked at my room.
“Cool room,” he said, changing the subject.
“Thanks, so what did you do at Yin’s?” I asked. I didn’t want to get nosy, but I was sure he was hiding something.
“Nothing,” he replied.
“I thought you said Yin said it was urgent. What was so urgent?” I asked. His phone rang.
“Just a minute, I need to answer,” he said. He went outside. After a couple of minutes he came back.
“Are you done?” I asked.
“Sorry, that was my mom. I have to go,” he said.
“I can walk you home,” I said.
“Uh, no thanks, I need to hurry,” he said.
“Nah, don’t worry, I’m fast,” I said.
“No, no it’s okay. Bye,” he said.
“Wait, I need your number,” I said.
“I’ll give it to you tomorrow,” he was getting really nervous.
“Okay, bye,” I said. He went downstairs, and went outside, running practically.
“What the heck? He is totally hiding something,” said Kai.
“I know! But what is it?” I asked.
“Well, I have to go. My mom’s calling me,” said Kai.
“See you later,” I said.
“You too,” She hung up.
What is Yang hiding? Should I call Yin?
My phone rang my favourite tune. I picked up.
“Hi,” said Valentine.
“Hi, Valentine, can you detect love between two people?” I asked.
“Yup, why?” she asked. I told her.
“It’s just a theory,” I said.
“How about tomorrow, at the party?” she suggested.
“Yeah, sure,” she said.
“Well, see you tomorrow,” I said.
“Lots of love,” she said. I hung up.
“I will discover what is happening!” I said to myself. I still haven’t finished the gifts, or invited Angel, or do the decorations. I texted Taima, ‘Do you have Angel’s number?’
She replied after a couple of minutes, ‘Yeah.’ She sent me the number.
‘Thanks purple.’ I replied. I called Angel.
“Hello,” she said.
“Hi Angel, it’s me, Light,” I said.
“Hi Light,” she said.
“Where did you disappear to?” I asked.
“I went to the bathroom. I told you but you weren’t listening to me,” she said.
“Aw, I’m so sorry. I just get really caught up in these contests. But I wanted to tell you that you’re invited to my party tomorrow,” I said.
“Okay, thanks. Do you need help with the decorations or anything?” she asked.
“How sweet of you, I do actually. But it’s okay,” I said.
“No, no I want to help,” she said.
“Oh, sure,” I said. Silence, the doorbell rang again. I went and opened the door. It was Angel.
“How did you? When did you?” I stammered.
“May I come in?” she asked.
“Sure,” I said.
“Honey, who came?” asked my mom from the living room.
“My friend from school,” I replied.
“Okay,” my mom replied.
“Where’s the party?” asked Angel.
“In our basement,” She followed me to the basement. It was already decorated, and everything. I looked at Angel, she had a big smile.
Could she have done this?

--THE END--

I didn't introduce any new characters.. I wanted to focus on something else. This line "Can you detect love between two people?", made me gag. I'm sorry, but I cannot stand it!
Back to the story.. So Yang is hiding something... Light's curious. I get curious like that too, but I don't get too nosy. And Angel... there is something weird happening. And don't worry I still have the adventure part planned.

Chapter 3 (K)

“What do you mean it’s just me?” asks the boy in front of me. He had short black hair and glasses on. He’s carrying his clarinet case in one hand, so I can tell he’s just had band.
“I thought I told you not to sneak up on me like that! Usually it’s polite to tell someone that you’re following them.” I try to say it in the most serious way I could muster, but I crack a smile anyways.
“If all people were polite, there’d be no stalkers,” he counters. “But anyways, you seemed to deep in thought. I didn’t want to disturb whatever you were plotting.”
“So you’re saying I’m plotting someone’s demise?” I raise my eyebrow questioningly.
“I never said that. But it’s a possibility,” he smiles at me. He glances at his watch. “Hey, I’ll walk you home. I have some time to spare.”
This is new. He’s never offered to walk me home before in the 4 years we’ve been friends. He had always seemed to be the same guy from when we were in grade 5. Is something bothering him?
“Are you sure Drew? We would be passing your house and your parents would be worried… you’re already late according to their standards…”
He waves it off. “I’ll just tell them band practice ran late.” He starts walking ahead of me, leaving me no time to think about that.
We cut through the park about 5 minutes away from my home. Everything’s so beautiful in the fall with the leaves turning red and orange, like torches on the branches. There’s a silence between us as we listen to the birds and the children in the playground laughing.
“I can’t believe it’s almost the end of September,” he says, breaking the quietness between us. “Our first month of being in grade nine has almost passed.”
“Yeah,” I smile. “We’re in high school now. The awkward phase where we don’t know what to do, where we’re between being an adult and a child, and we have a bunch of hormones controlling us.” I stop and raise my head to look at the bright blue sky. This really is one of the days that you could say that there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
I look at Drew, and find him looking at me intently with a soft smile on his face.
“Drew? Is something wrong?”
He seems startled, and replies, “No. Nothing at all.” He turns away from me.
The rest of the way home was filled with an awkward silence.
We reach my house, and I’m slightly relieved, as I have no idea how to alleviate the obvious discomfort Drew was feeling.
“Thanks for walking me home, Drew.” I turn to walk up the steps when I feel him grab my wrist.
“Drew?”
He pulls me into a tight hug and I gasp in surprise. I tense and then relax. I can feel his heart beating…or is it mine?
Suddenly he lets go of me. He gives me a gentle smile and says, “See you, Kaya.” He disappears out of view, and I can only stand there in shock.
My face feels hot and I somehow find a way to sit on the steps. All I can think of is his smile, and how I could feel his heart beating next to mine...
Why is my heart beating so fast?!

I suck at writing romantic scenes don't I? If you haven't guessed why Kaya feels this way, I'm sorely disappointed. I took snippets from real life situations, although this isn't exactly how it happened...
And don't even ask if D and I are a couple. It should be completely obvious by now, even if Ronnie doesn't comment about it. Seriously.
And please give us some titles!! And ideas!!

Chapter 3 (N)

I went up to my locker to get my orange notebook. I had seven notebooks; the colours were based on the rainbow.
“Wow, you guys have small lockers here,” said Angel.
“Well everyone shrinks their notebooks,” I said.
“Why don’t you do that?” she asked.
“Hi Light,” said a familiar voice. It was Levana. She was wearing a t-shirt that says ‘Black or Lack’.
“Hi Levana, this is…,” I said.
“Angel,” Levana said.
“How did you know?” I asked.
“I used a spell,” she said.
“But you have dark magic,” I said.
“I used dark magic to make a creature that got into your head, took the info and came back,” she said.
“Did it take any other info?” I asked embarrassed.
“No, don’t worry,” she said.
“Students, I am here to announce the contest of the year,” said the announcer.
“Yes, finally! I’ve been waiting all year,” I said.
“The contest information will be distributed Monday by all home room teachers,” the announcer finished.
“Want to do a little time travel?” asked Levana.
“I think they already blocked that spell,” I said.
“Oh right. Anyway hurry up, I want to get home,” she said.
“You’re coming to my party, right?” I asked.
“I totally forgot,” she said.
“Give me your notebook,” I said. She took out a black notebook and a black pen. I wrote down, ‘Do not forget Light’s party tomorrow at five o’clock.’
“I’ll call you tomorrow at four,” I said.
“Okay. I’ll be there,” she said. I was done packing stuff.
“Oh, and Angel, you’re invited too,” I said. She was gone.
“Where did Angel go?” asked Levana.
“I don’t know,” I said.
“Angel,” we both called out. She didn’t come out.
“She probably went,” said Levana.
“Yeah probably,” I said. Levana and I walked home. Levana was always forgetful, but really nice.
“Don’t forget the party,” I called out. She nodded and went inside her house.
I walked past Yin’s house. Then I walked back. I knocked on her door.
“Hi Yin,” I said. Her expression went from happy to sad.
“Oh, it’s you,” she said.
“Who were you waiting for?” I asked. She became jumpy.
“Nobody,” she said. She bit her lower lip.
“Okay, well you can copy the notes you missed now,” I said.
“Oh, no thanks, I’ll copy them before the party tomorrow,” she said.
“But you said…,” I said.
“No well, you should go, bye,” she said. She closed the door as fast as she could.
“Nice to see you too!” I shouted. Why was she acting all jumpy? I turned around and went a couple of steps.
“Hello Light,” said Yang.
“YANG, oh my God, how are you?” I asked. I hugged him.
“I’m good, how about you?” he asked.
“I missed you so much! How come you didn’t tell me you came back?” I asked him. Yang was my best friend when we were kids. He went to Sandsville when we were ten years old.
“I wanted to surprise you,” he said.
“My house is that way,” I said pointing to the opposite direction.
“Don’t you think I’d know where you live?” he asked jokingly.
“Well, anyway I have a party tomorrow at five. Can you please come?” I asked.
“I’ll try,” he said.
“Please, for me?” I pleaded.
“Sure, for my best friend,” he said.
“Hooray! Well anyway I got to go, bye Yang,” I said.
“Bye Light,” he said.
"By the way, where are you going?" I asked.
"To this girl named Yin," he said.
"Before you came to say hi to me?" I asked jealous.
"She said it was really urgent. I promise I was going to your house, but she told me it was urgent," he said.
"Well, I know you'd never lie to me. Bye," I said.
"Bye," he said.
Wait, did he say Yin?

--THE END--

Ladies and gentlemen I introduce Yin, Yang, and Levana.
By the way, can you guys write some feedback on the feedback page? But feedback on a specific chapter could go under the chapter, but like general feedback.
Happy Holidays.

Chapter 2 (K)

A petite girl comes over wearing a purple shirt with bunnies on it. “Hey guys. What are you up to?” Her voice is so soft you can barely hear it even though the library is quiet.
“Aw, come on Nella. Practice your public speaking skills!” Lae exclaims. Several people turn around and shush her.
“Oh just leave her be, would you? It’s only been a month since she started speaking. And even then she used the thought-voice transfer machine half of the time,” I drawled, and turned on my tablet again.
I was researching the victims. It’s quite fascinating actually. None of the victims have anything in common, and the identity of victim number one was never released. Each of the victims fell into a coma for a few months and then die suddenly. It’s all so bizarre that I just have to investigate it.
“Ah, Kaya?” breathed a voice into my ear.
“Ack!” I turned, startled to find myself face-to-face with Nella.
“Oh my god. You scared the hell out of me!” I grinned, but that was quickly wiped off as I saw her serious expression. “Hey, where’s Lae?”
“Over at the manga section right now. I thought I’d discuss this with you now.” Her voice is much quieter than normal.
Normally I’d question how serious this discussion would be, but coming from a girl who usually has a grin on her face, I decided not to say anything.
“I found out who victim number one is. It’s Maury Spiel from our French class.”
I jerk back in my chair. “Maury? You mean ‘Hacker’ Maury?” Nella nods, and I close my eyes. “How did you figure that out?”
“Overheard my mom talking to Maury’s mom awhile back before they knew about the virus. Didn’t make sense then, but now it does.”
“Thanks Nella.” A headache was creeping up on me and I massaged my temples. “Could you tell Lae I’m leaving without her? I need to do some stuff at home.” I quickly pack up my bag and rush out of the library.
On my 20 minutes walk home, I thought about this new and very important fact. Who would’ve thought it was Maury? We were told that he was sick and would be living out in the country until his condition improved. None of us gave any thought to that. But now that I know he’s victim number one, it made my life so much easier. He lived only a few blocks away from me, making investigating not as difficult.
“Ok Hacker Maury. Let’s see what type of clues you left for me.”
“What the heck are talking about?” asks a familiar voice.
“Wha-? Oh it’s you Drew.”

I'm taking a break tomorrow. It's Christmas for goodness sake! So I introduced Nella and Drew into the picture. And also revealed a bit of how Kaya acts... a bit of an exaggerated version of myself. I do really like mysteries like that, although I'm not that dedicated to them

Merry Christmas!

Chapter 2 (N)

The bell rang.
“It’s lunch time. I want you to come meet my friends,” I said to Angel. That was the best class ever. I could actually hear Mrs. S talking, and when I didn't, Angel let me copy her notes. She’s like the nicest person ever!
“Sure. Where do you eat lunch?” she asked as she put her purple notebook into her bag.
“Do you have your lunch?” I asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
“Then I’ll show you,” I said. She finished packing her bag, and wore it. We walked to the cafeteria. Kai and Valentine were sitting and chatting. Kai was also reading a book.
“Hi, Valentine, and Kai,” I said.
“Hi, uh,” Valentine said. She was referencing Angel.
"Oh, sorry, Valentine and Kai, Angel. Angel, Valentine, and Kai," I said.
"Hi, Angel," said Kai.
"Hi! I love your hairstyle," said Valentine. She did a spell, and put a pink heart on Angel's hair.
"Thanks," said Angel. She sat down next to me.
"So, Kai, what book are you reading?" I asked.
"I'm reading a book about people who got a mysterious disease. It's fiction. I already predicted the ending, since it's so obvious," she said.
"You know, I heard there's a spell that makes you keep the book in front of you, and changes the page when you say change," I said.
"I heard of that too. But you have to be on level three," said Valentine.
"Hi," said someone behind me. I turned around, it was Dan. Kai got up, and went to upstairs, probably the library. Dan looked kinda sad.
"Oh, hi Dan," said Valentine.
"Hi Dan, this is Angel," I said. Angel waved her hand.
"Why did Kai leave?" asked a voice in my head. It was Angel. She was using telepathy.
"She doesn't like Dan," I replied.
"Why not?" she asked.
"Something happened between them a long time ago. They used to be best friends. We asked them what happened, but they don't like to talk about it," I said.
"Aw, that's horrible," she said.
"Yeah, I know," I said. I took a bite out of my sandwich.
"Then why did Dan come if he knows Kai doesn't like him?" she asked. She took a sip of her apple juice.
"He likes her, but she doesn't like him at all," I said.
"GUYS!" Dan said. Angel and I got startled.
"Yes?" we replied in unison.
"Lunch is ending in a few minutes," Valentine said. I looked at my watch. Lunch was ending in seven minutes. I started eating. Why did time go so fast? I was just using telepathy for a few minutes. Wait, when you're using it time goes very fast.
"Where were you?" asked Taima. She appeared out of nowhere. But that's just Taima.
"Hi Taima, this is Angel," I said.
"Hi Angel," said Taima in a friendly voice. Taima was always friendly.
"Hi," said Angel. She was getting nervous again.
The bell rang again. Back to class.

--THE END--

Sorry for this chapter, it was really rushed. I didn't want a long chapter. I just introduced Dan, Kai, Valentine and Taima. But mostly Dan and Kai's feud.

Chapter 1 (K)

“Hey, did you hear about the latest virus victim on the news?” asked Lae, propping up her feet beside my tablet.
I look up from the screen, brushing my hair away from my face. “Of course, who hasn’t? It’s been all over the web lately.” I push her feet off and spin around to face her. She was wearing her normal outfit of black, black and more black. Today she had lacy fingerless gloves on and a dragon choker. I look at myself and realize how plain I must look beside her with my jeans and green t-shirt.
“This victim is number 70, right?” she asks. She starts spinning on her chair.
“Get your facts straight, Lae. She’s number 46. We haven’t reached 50 quite yet. People are probably exaggerating now, or blaming every recent coma and death on the epidemic.” I sigh and turn off my tablet. Once the conversation has started, there’s no stopping it now when it comes to Lae.
“Oh come on Kaya, give me a break once in awhile. You make me feel like a complete idiot sometimes.”
“I make you feel like and idiot? You are one!” I giggle, and dodge an attempt to hit me in the head with a textbook. “Let me prove it. Who else would sleep in because they thought it was Saturday when it’s Wednesday, forgets to do homework assigned 2 weeks ago and forgets their packed lunch at home?” I take off my glasses and wipe them clean.
“Ugh. Don’t remind me please. My parents are so going to kill me when they get that call from the office. And it’s not just me… lots of people do that,” she still persists. I just raise a questioning brow and put my glasses back on.
“Uhhh… fine. You win.” She raises her hands in surrender.
I smiled triumphantly. “Ok idiot. Now what time do you want to leave the library?”
“Eh. Whenever. I don’t really care.” She turns around and waves. “Hey, Nella! Over here!”

This is my writing for today. I totally skipped yesterday...

Must. Not. Do. That!!!

So pretty much I've introduced 2 characters and about to introduce N's character. I've got to figure out how to add everyone else into the story.
Just so you know, my chapters are not going to be the proper size. I'm just naming them chapters for the sake of organization. Please bear with me.

Chapter 1 (N)

"Okay class, settle down!" shouted Mrs. Sparkle. Nobody stopped talking. She did a spell. Everybody was quiet. I couldn't hear the spell. I wanted to, but I couldn't.
"Ah, now that we're quiet, we can start on the lesson. Today's lesson is about...," said Mrs. Sparkle. I couldn't hear anything because the people beside me started talking again! I didn't want to be a tattle tale, so I just said to myself "they'll be quiet" over and over.
The phone rang. I rushed to it. Anything to get me away from those people. I picked it up.
"Hello, Mrs. Sparkle's room, student speaking," I said.
"Hello, may I speak to Mrs. Sparkle," It was the principle. I covered the mouth of the phone.
"Mrs. Sparkle, it's for you," I said. She made it fly to her.
"Thank you," she whispered. She started talking on the phone, so I had to go back to my seat.
"Can't fly, can you?" asked the guy beside me  in a mocking voice. His name was Eric.
"Can you?" I asked him in the same tone.
"Duh, who can't?" said Eric. I swallowed. Those words hurt a lot.
"Whatever," I said. Mrs. Sparkle finished talking.
"Who would like to do a favour for me?" asked Mrs. Sparkle. My hand shot up.
"I would," I said.
"Okay, thanks. You have been very helpful today. Do you want to take the attendance for me?" she asked. She knew I loved to that.
"Yes!" I said. I opened her sparkling folder. I started calling names.
"Okay, now go downstairs to the office and you'll find a new student...," she started.
"Okay!" I went downstairs with the attendance before she finished her orders. Ha ha. I found a girl there. She was sitting quietly. I put the attendance in the folder in the office. I smiled at her.
"Hello!" I said.
"Hi," she said shyly.
"Are you a new student?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied.
"Oh, that's awesome! You're in my class! You have the nicest teacher ever!" I said encouragingly. She was a bit scared. Which is normal. She stood up. Her bag fell.
"Come here," she said. The bag stopped, and started rising.
"That is so cool! No wonder you're here. Come with me," I said.
"Do you have a no magic in the halls or flying sort of rule?" she asked.
"No, no not at all! You can fly, if you want. By the way, I didn't catch your name," I said.
"Oh, well I didn't drop it," she said jokingly, "It's Angel."
"Lucky! Angel is such a cute name!" I said. We got to class.
"And that's why you must never do any spells you are not trained to do," finished Mrs. Sparkle.
"I'm here, with the new student," I said.
"Hello," Mrs. Sparkle said in a friendly voice.
"Hello," Angel said. She's so adorable.
"Do you want to introduce yourself to the class?" Mrs. S asked. SAY NO!
"Sure," Angel said with confidence. I walked slowly to my seat, so I could hear at least some of her introduction. She walked in front of the class. She wasn't nervous. I wish I wasn't nervous when it was my turn to do that. I reached my seat, and sat down.
"Hello, my name is Angel...," she started. Nobody was talking. Which was weird. "My parents wanted to come to their home town, and the place I was born in, again because they missed here. I love it here too," she said. Applause. I don't even think she finished.
"Thank you miss Smiles. You can go sit beside Light," said Mrs. S.
"Thank you Mrs. Sparkle," she said. I never heard Mrs. S say her name... I raised my hand and waved it so Angel could see me.
"What about me?" asked Emily, the talkative girl who sits beside me.
"Go sit beside Jake!" she said. Emily groaned and moved.
I think I have made a new best friend.

-- THE END --

So...? How was is it? Can I have feedback? And I didn't include most of the important characters yet, except Angel and Light. In this chapter was just to introduce Angel, since she'll be an important character later on. And I know you're thinking who names their kids Angel and Light? Well in this story, you'll find unusual stuff.
FEEDBACK PLEASE!
Thanks for reading.

Prologue (K)

“Damn it!” he pounds the glass table. “Why doesn’t the site work? I’ve been waiting to play this for months!”
The computer screen is blank, reflecting the frustration written on his face. He tries typing in the html code to overwrite the virus but the machine doesn’t respond.
“Stupid old machine. I knew I should’ve bought the new 2021 model instead of keeping this 2017. It always gets infected with bugs,” he mutters. He moves to turn off the computer when the screen flickers on.
“Hey, awesome!” he exclaims, settling back into his chair. But his excitement dims when he realized what was on the screen. Written in big, green letters, it reads, “Do Not Proceed. You Have Been Warned.”
His anger now bubbles over at reading this. “Goddamn computer!” He hits the table at a much greater force, and it falls down with a sickening crash.
“Hey Maury, are you ok?” his mom calls up the stairs. Maury took a deep breath.
“Yeah everything’s fine Mom. It’s just the computer’s acting up again.”
“Ok, I know you can fix it. You were always the computer whiz. But when you’re finished, come down for dinner please.”
“Yeah, yeah ok. I’ll be finished ASAP.”
He turns his attention back to the screen. This sort of the thing happened all the time, where the computer would go haywire. His mom was right. He is a computer whiz, and he’ll be able to fix it no time.
‘All right Maury, let’s do this,’ he thinks to himself. Thankfully, the table didn’t break when it fell. He righted the computer and stared at the screen.
The words “You Have Been Warned” made him feel uneasy. Most machines, even computers, are usually stiff and polite in their language. They are created to serve and please humans, so the usually say everything in a polite and almost cold way. But the way the computer wrote the warning was almost threatening, as if the computer was saying, “Or else.”
Maury shook off that thought. “Ok computer, let’s proceed.”
The screen blinks twice, and then turns black.
“Aw, too bad. You’ve been caught,” says a childlike voice from the screen. Its voice is robotic and singsong.
“What…what?! What does that mean? Computer, respond!”
“Say bye-bye, Maury.” The child’s voice has become more menacing.
“How do you know my name?" The panic starts to choke him. “Who are you?”
The voice giggles. “My name is Chronos. Although knowing my name isn’t going to help you now.”
“Chronos, what did you do to me?”
The voice replied, “Too bad Maury. You’ve been infected!”
There was silence for a few seconds that was interrupted by the thud of a body hitting the ground. Maury will not be able to make it down for dinner tonight.
On the screen, there is one sentence in big green letters:

He’s Only The First One.

A basic idea on what I'm writing (K)

So since N just wrote what she was writing, I thought I would too.
I really have just a very basic idea, so all you readers, please help me!
My alternate reality is very similar to the real world except in the future. So there's some technology that I'm going to be making up (if you have any ideas for cool technology I could use, comment below or in the feedback page). There's some sort of a virus going around that is affecting people in the world, and so the main characters are trying to find the source and destroy it before they catch it. I know, it sounds cliche, but hopefully it all works out.
Thanks, and hope to hear from you!

Hiiiii!

Hey, I'm N. The other half of this blog! I'll be writing my novel here too, (K is the stronger writer, just saying). Well, I wanted to tell you about my novel:
It's about my real life friends, but with somewhat different personalities and different names. They go to a magical school, where they learn stuff about magic, and powers. Everyone's power depends on his/her personality. Like one of my friend likes pink really much, so I decided she has love power. She can charm people. One day, the school goes crazy and their teacher tells them to go on an adventure to get something that'll help everybody that got injured. On their adventure, they find new things. And learn about each other more, how to control power... and other stuff. FEEDBACK PLEASE!
I'll start writing on the 21st (Wednesday) when our winter break starts!!! And exams end!
With bunny love,
N.
P.S. I like making up new vocabulary.

Hello!

Hi there,
I'm K and I'm one of the writers here on K and N Novels.
N is my friend, and on a whim, we decided to write 2 different novels based on real life over the winter break. The stories will be based on real people in our lives and maybe some events as well. We do take some liberties to change names, personalities and events but it'll be interesting to see how different they turn out. Each story will be set in an alternate reality with a different plot and conflict as well.
Please give us feedback as we go on! It'll be greatly appreciated.
Cheer us on as we try to write a novel in a couple of weeks!

Sincerely,
K
